Hauling: Asos.com (End of Season Sale :-)

I love a good sale... This video is just to highlight some of the items that I scored during the Asos.com end of season clearance.

Shopping end of season sales are a great way to get items that you really want at very reasonable prices. Because the fashion retail cycles are quite different than other retail cycles, a lot of the times clearance sales normally happen right when you can actually wear the items. If you notice right now, Spring clothing are in stores or making their way to your favorite retailer as you read this (even though we are no where near feeling Spring like weather for another 2 months...especially here in NY); because Spring items arrive months in advance, they also end up on sale moths in advance to make way for Fall/Winter items which starts hitting many retailers as early as late July/August. If you time these sales cycles correctly, you will always be able to find a great bargain for some items that you really want.

Although waiting for season clearance sales are a great way to save money on items that you want, it is also a bit of a gamble. You must be aware that not every item you may have your eye on will make it to a sale. I've waited for certain items in the past, just to be faced with the fact that the items have sold out before ever making it to sale, the item is never going on sale, and/ or because a lot of divas actually are waiting as well, so by the time you find out about the sale the item in your size is gone! Another thing to keep in mind is that many items that do make it to end of season clearance sales are usually items that not many people want (which is fine if you have unique taste) or if you are lucky, it is possible that your favorite retailer just over projected the sale of certain items and had a surplus (which is always beneficial for the consumer).

I always suggest that if the item is something that you absolutely positively must have, then don't wait! For me, most items are negotiable based on price. If I see an item that I really like, but I don't like the price, then I will wait. A lot of times, I actually end up liking an item more if I feel like I got it for a steal (lol)!

Here is a Budget Diva Tip for you... When shopping end of season clearance sales, try and increase your savings by combining the sale with a coupon code (coupons) at retailers that will allow it. I had a 10% off coupon code for Asos.com that I used in conjunction with the sale which ended up saving me a significant amount of $$.

  2. I am an avid asos shopper and I agree with u. I doubt that I have bought anything full price on there yet, I just save the items I like for later and wait, some I miss out on but most times I don't. Another tip on ASOS is to buy items in GBP, I realize that I often save from $1-$5 per item when I shop in GPB than my currency (AUD) and I'm quite sure it will work the same for USD. I believe it's because the exchange rate they use is often higher than the current one at the time.

p.s. I'm now ffg u on instagram as "deighorlar" :)
